About the music

Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss (1864–1949). Tone poem, 1896.

  • Inspired by Nietzsche's book of the same name.
  • This opening is called "Sunrise": it's built on just three notes, C–G–C.
  • Stanley Kubrick used it in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). That's why it sounds like space.
